Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso take on The New Bloodline: SmackDown highlights, Jan. 10, 2025

The January 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown delivered an unforgettable night of action as Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso joined forces to battle The New Bloodline, led by Roman Reigns’ latest allies, Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. The tension between the factions reached a boiling point, with the main event showcasing the ongoing war for dominance within WWE.

The evening began with a fiery promo from The New Bloodline. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, accompanied by Paul Heyman, declared that the faction had evolved beyond the traditional family dynamics that once defined it. Fatu, making his SmackDown in-ring debut, vowed to cement his place in the WWE hierarchy by dismantling any opposition, starting with Jimmy Uso—a former Bloodline member—and Cody Rhodes, the man who nearly dethroned Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

Cody and Jimmy responded in kind, rallying the crowd with a passionate rebuttal backstage. Cody emphasized the importance of breaking Reigns’ stranglehold on the WWE and vowed to finish the fight he started a year ago. Jimmy, brimming with defiance, made it clear he had no regrets about turning on his family, stating, “I’m standing with those who fight for freedom, not control.”

The main event was a hard-hitting tag team clash. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu showcased their brutal power and seamless teamwork, keeping Cody and Jimmy on the defensive early on. Fatu impressed the crowd with his agility for a powerhouse, executing a devastating Samoan Splash that nearly secured the win.

However, Cody and Jimmy refused to back down. Rhodes rallied with his signature moves, including a stunning Cody Cutter, while Jimmy brought the fight to his former allies with superkicks that electrified the arena. The turning point came when Jimmy countered a Samoan Spike attempt from Solo, setting up Cody to hit Cross Rhodes on Fatu for the pinfall victory.

The victory sent a strong message to The New Bloodline and Roman Reigns himself. With alliances solidifying and tensions escalating, the battle for supremacy on SmackDown is far from over as the road to the Royal Rumble heats up.
