Despite Rey’s initial reluctance to fight his son, Dominik’s constant disrespect and attacks on their family forced him to accept the challenge.
Dominik made a grand entrance, arriving in a corrections transport vehicle, symbolizing his “hardened” persona after claiming to have spent time in prison. Meanwhile, Rey, inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before, arrived in style, accompanied by Snoop Dogg in a lowrider, paying tribute to Eddie Guerrero.
As the bell rang, Dominik aggressively charged at Rey, attempting to overpower his father with a newfound mean streak. However, Rey’s veteran instincts allowed him to counter, using his quickness to outmaneuver his son.
Dominik soon took control, using dirty tactics, including throwing Rey into the ring post and taunting his mother and sister, Angie and Aalyah Mysterio, at ringside. In a shocking moment, Dominik even threw a drink in his sister’s face, further enraging Rey.
